Welcome to Running Wild, a camp for middle school girls focused on cross country and long-distance running. Running Wild is based on passion and excitement for the sport. It's for girls of every level, from raw beginners to competitive runners, coached by experienced, dedicated high school cross country runners. Running Wild is the basis of my Girl Scout Gold Award, a community service award that makes a lasting change on a community.
Unlike many camps, Running Wild is inexpensive and personal. With a 5:1 coach-to-camper ratio and carefully planned training supplemented with activities like yoga and strength training, Running Wild is practically guaranteed to make every camper into a better runner and athlete.
Running Wild is for girls entering 6th-8th grade in the 2009-10 school year. It will meet every weekday starting July 27 and ending August 14 at the Palo Alto High School track/football field at 4 and last until about 6. The cost is $10 per person. No running experience is required! To sign up, email Abby at runningwildxccamp "at" gmail.com.
